How to Motivate Teams Working Remotely

By Caroline Balter

We often get asked by interviewees, "How do remote teams stay motivated?" Our recommended solution, in-person meetups.

Due to COVID, it had been two years since Third and Grove’s last meetup. Most of our project teams had never met face to face. We were all in desperate need of some casual connection outside of Slack. We decided to kick off 2022 with an optional, all-expenses-paid Boston meetup. The event was aptly named “Not a Retreat: Boston Invitational.”

TAG folks from all over the country flew into Boston early in the week. Our workspaces, lodging, and bar hopping stayed within historic Downtown Crossing, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Boston. Between catered Acai bowls and cocktails at hidden speakeasies, casually connecting with coworkers was refreshing. We reveled in the conversations that get missed between computer screens. Check out the proof below.
