Team Building Through Shared Values
By Ops Team
Maybe you've heard it said that your company has values whether you define them or not. Back in 2021, we finally put our values on paper and made them official at Third and Grove. As a result, we have welcomed a lot of positive changes in our culture and our work.
Our TAG company values serve as the guiding principles that represent the company, support our vision, shape our culture, and drive our decisions. Beyond attracting talent, our values act as a magnetic force, drawing individuals who not only possess the requisite skills but also align with TAG's ethos.
A strategic alignment between a candidate's personal values and our company fosters a sense of belonging, engagement, and shared purpose, ultimately leading to greater team member satisfaction, retention, and organizational success. In the quest for top talent, prioritizing company values in recruitment isn't just advantageous, it's essential for building a cohesive, high-performing team poised for long-term growth.
Start with Heart:
Our people are at the center of everything we do. Give the support, empathy, and energy to your teammates and clients that you expect in return.
When recruiting, starting with heart means genuinely caring about the candidates and their fit within the company culture. This includes empathizing with their needs, aspirations, and concerns.
Our recruitment team demonstrates this value by taking the time to understand candidates' backgrounds, motivations, and career goals. They should communicate transparently, showing empathy and compassion throughout the recruitment process.
Own It:
We take pride in what we put forth and hold ourselves accountable for outcomes both good and bad. We are each responsible for our words, actions, and results.
Owning it in recruiting calls for the hiring team to take full responsibility for every aspect of the recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to onboarding new hires.
Our recruitment team takes ownership of their actions and decisions, ensuring they follow up promptly, provide feedback, and maintain clear communication with candidates and hiring managers. They also proactively address any challenges or issues that arise during the recruitment process.
Stay Curious:
Our team knows we don’t know everything. We let our egos take a backseat to our desire for learning and advancing each day.
Staying curious in recruiting involves continuously seeking ways to improve and innovate the recruitment process to attract top talent.
Our team demonstrates this value by staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in recruitment, experimenting with new sourcing methods, technologies, and assessment techniques, and seeking feedback from candidates and hiring managers to identify areas for improvement.
Do the Right Thing:
What we do when nobody is watching matters. While the right path may not be the easiest, we must act with integrity in all situations.
Doing the right thing in recruiting involves maintaining integrity, fairness, and ethical conduct throughout the recruitment process.
Our recruitment team adheres to legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring a diverse and inclusive hiring process free from bias and discrimination. They treat all of our candidates with respect and fairness, providing them with accurate and timely information about the role and company, while making hiring decisions based on merit.
Defy Mediocrity:
Complacency kills. We aim for excellence and build upon each challenge with increased dedication to improving our craft.
In recruiting, we defy mediocrity by striving for excellence and setting high standards for the candidate experience as well as the quality of hires.
Our team aims to attract and hire top talent who not only meet the job requirements but also contribute to the company's culture and success. Nothing keeps you farther from mediocrity than a diverse, cohesive team.
Our recruitment team at TAG recognizes the responsibility and privilege of ensuring candidates align with our values. In a sense, we are the gatekeepers of our culture. By operating with our values in mind, we are able to find candidates who appreciate those same values and will find a workplace that practices them fulfilling.
We know that a prolonged work relationship that goes against a team member’s values is the number one cause of burnout, so we strive to get alignment from the start. Helping candidates understand and connect with our purpose through our mission, vision and values not only makes sure it’s a good fit for them, but it also helps us get closer to accomplishing those objectives.
